Dive Instruction in Key WestOPENWATER CHECKOUT DIVES The Openwater Checkout or “referral” course is a two day program. Prior to your arrival in Key West, you must have completed classroom & pool sessions, as well as your written exam within the last six months. Your certification dives are conducted on the coral reefs of the FLORIDA KEYS NATIONAL MARINE SANCTUARY. You will be completing 2 scuba dives per day, as well as some snorkeling skills under the direct supervision of one of our instructors. There will also be time to tour the reefs, just for the fun of it. If you would like to arrange a pool practice session or review of diving theory prior to your open-water dives, this can be arranged for a nominal fee. You may also want to consider completing one of our advanced or specialty classes after your certification dives during your stay in Key West. Along with your referral
form and log book, you will need to provide us with 2 passport size photos
for our records and your certification card. A temporary card will be
issued upon completion of your open-water dives. Your permanent certification
card will be issued by the national certification agency.
